Committees

Advisors to the Board: These are usually past board members that have extraordinary insight/oversight to share with the current board to advise on internal functions.  Some still function at their homes in valuable capacities.

Architectural Control: Working hard to preserve our neighborhood through the enforcement of our deed restrictions, this committee handles complaints and requests when questions about deed restrictions arise.

Beautification: Always keeping our entry beds at the four major entrances of the neighborhood looking beautiful, this committee also oversees maintenance along Goodwood and Sherwood Forest Boulevard medians, and helps to host the Fall Garden Expo.

Eyewatch: Intended to have a block captain on every street of our neighborhood, Eyewatch is a committee comprised of volunteers that help get out the word when needed in times of heightened alert regarding crime.

Federation: Represents our association at a collective meeting of all the greater Baton Rouge area's associations.  This is where we discuss various issues throughout our areas and get ideas on how to better manage and serve the membership.  Tools are offered and insight is given about the many ways to make our homes safer and value secure.  There are about 40 pages of associations that can give us much insight.

Hospitality: As new residents come into our area, the attempt to contact them is made to welcome them into our community and invite them to join our association.  The rules of our city and restrictions are discussed for both of us to share the values and cultures of our home.  The strength of our association is offered to better protect the very reasons they moved here...security of their families and property value stability of their investments.  This position is very important to our association and to the new residents.

Membership: We wouldn't have an association if we didn't have members--this committee works on recruitment and retention of members.

Newsletter: This position collects and edits information to publish in our periodic that is delivered to each home in our area

Public Works: Building on a good relationship with our city's Department of Public Works, this committee helps facilitate your complaints about sewer, drainage, street repairs, etc.

Security: Attends to the general complaints/alerts in the neighborhood and oversees our private pay security patrol. This committee also has a voice mailbox where you can leave your address so that our patrol will check on your home in the event you are out of town.

Webmaster: This is the person that keeps the web pages up to date and accurate.  The webpage is a communication tool to keep the membership informed and present our Association to the rest of the world.

Zoning: This committee investigates and forwards complaints brought to the board by residents regarding possible zoning violations in our A-1 residential neighborhood.
